Tunnel VPN Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Tunnel VPN app and the website tunnelvpn.mobi (together, "Tunnel VPN", "we", "us") collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Tunnel VPN is published on Google Play by Vpn Pro Team.
Summary
- We do not log the websites you visit, the content of your traffic or the DNS queries you make through the VPN.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Our servers keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, connection time, amount of data) for up to 14 days to keep the service secure and working, then delete them automatically.
- The free plan shows ads from Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network. You can control ad personalization in the consent message and in your device settings. Premium has no ads.
- Payments are handled by Google Play. We never see your card details.
Information we do not collect
When you are connected, your traffic travels encrypted between your device and our server. We do not record the websites, apps or services you use, the content of your communications, your DNS queries or your browsing history.
Information we collect
Connection data
To connect you, the app requests a server configuration from our API (api.tunnelvpn.mobi) and receives a temporary access token that expires after 24 hours. Our servers record standard technical information: your IP address, the date and time of the request or connection, the server used, the amount of data transferred and the app or device type. We use it for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and capacity planning, and keep it for up to 14 days before it is deleted automatically.
Free plan usage
The free plan includes 250 MB of traffic per month. The app counts how much you have used on your device to apply this limit.
Account information (optional)
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We use them to show your account in the app and to link your Premium subscription. You can use the free plan without signing in.
Purchases
Premium subscriptions are bought through Google Play, which processes the payment. We receive the purchase details we need to activate Premium (product, order status, purchase token and renewal or expiry date). We do not receive your card or bank details.
App analytics and crash reports
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google). They collect app instance identifiers, device model, operating system and app version, approximate location (country or region derived from your IP address), in-app events such as opening the app, connecting successfully or failing to connect and the server location you chose, and crash diagnostics. We use this to understand how the app is used, fix bugs and improve reliability. We also use Firebase Remote Config and Firebase App Check, which helps confirm that requests come from the genuine app.
Advertising
The free plan shows ads from Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network. These partners may collect your device's advertising ID, device information, IP address and ad interaction data to show and measure ads and, if you agree, to personalize them. Where required, a consent message (Google User Messaging Platform) lets you choose. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your Android settings. Premium removes ads.
Camera
The app uses your camera only when you choose to scan a QR code to import a server configuration. The image is processed on your device and is not uploaded.
Support requests
If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message, and use it only to reply to you.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain and secure the VPN service;
- To activate and manage Premium subscriptions;
- To prevent fraud, abuse and attacks on our servers;
- To diagnose problems and improve the app;
- To show ads in the free plan;
- To reply when you contact us; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (providing the service and Premium), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving the app), your consent (personalized ads) and compliance with legal obligations.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run Tunnel VPN, each under its own privacy terms:
- Google — Firebase, AdMob, Google Play billing and Google Sign-In;
- Meta — Audience Network ads;
- Cloudflare — network protection for our website and API;
- Vultr — server hosting.
We may disclose information if the law or a valid legal process requires it, or when it is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the service. If Tunnel VPN is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred subject to this policy. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep information
- Server technical logs: up to 14 days;
- VPN access tokens: 24 hours;
- Account and subscription information: while your account is active, or until you ask us to delete it (unless the law requires us to keep it longer);
- Analytics and crash data: according to the retention settings of Google Firebase;
- Support emails: as long as needed to resolve your request.
International transfers
Our servers and service providers may be located outside your country, including in the United States. When we transfer information, we rely on our providers' safeguards for international data transfers.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, restricted access to our servers and short retention periods. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
- You can use the free plan without signing in.
- You can opt out of personalized ads in the consent message or in your Android settings.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your account data by emailing us from the email address linked to your account.
- Uninstalling the app stops all further collection from your device.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your local data protection authority.
Children
Tunnel VPN is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Using a VPN responsibly
Laws about using a VPN differ between countries. You are responsible for using Tunnel VPN in line with the laws that apply where you are. See our Terms of Service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
